Whether it's about a particular branch, the website, our staff, please let us know, we'd love to hear from you!
2011 has been a whirlwind so far! We experienced and recovered from a site crash in February (Kudos to the IT Department for keeping a backup!) and we should be back to normal now (other than a few dev blog posts that were eaten by the crash monster ) That being said, time for some content updates!!
-Teen Scene content has been completely changed and updated.
-Added Video capability via a Youtube slider. Up to 8 videos can be displayed in the slider below the main player.
-Added both public and private file upload capability for future promotions and projects.
-Developed a prototype for online employment application and submission.
-Kids Corner custom design has been implemented.
-iBistro asthetic redesign is almost complete.
Per usual, let's go over some new content and features that should be completed between now and the next entry!
-More user interaction using new functions that have been released (video, interaction, etc)
-Patron book reviews posted on a new section of the site
-reworking the Kids Corner and Adults section of the site along the same line as Teen Scene was.
-Facebook integration.
Alright, I think that'll do it for now, until next time!
Hello! I am Russ Toms, your friendly neighborhood Website Admin!
I wanted to create this blog to keepe veryone up to date on what's cooking with the Shreve Memorial Library website, what new things will be added and what is to come. Let's start with what was done today, shall we?
Fixed an issue where some links on the site weren't underlined.
Created the dev blog!
Corrected an issue where some of the employment listings weren't displayed properly.
So, as you may be wondering at this point, what's in store for the SML website? I'll list jsut a few of the planned new functions that are right around the corner!
Live, one on one Librarian chat application (Think facebook chat in pop out mode. Ever want to know where to find an obscure resource needed for a school project? They'll have the answer!)
Video (both librarian and patron) support.
Public commenting on certain sections of the site. (like this one!)
Custom graphic designs for specific sections of the site.
More interactive calendars and maps (we have quite a few now, and plan on phasing into using these fully as time goes on)
Text-A-Librarian service.
I want to personally thank you for visiting the Shreve Memorial website. Please, enjoy your stay!
