The Readers' Advisory Department, located on the Second Floor, includes the main circulating collection of the library as well as the Audiovisual Collection, which includes videos, CDs, and DVDs.

The circulating book collection in Readers' Advisory is made up of the following areas: fiction, nonfiction, mysteries, westerns, short stories, science fiction, and large print books (including fiction and nonfiction).

Shreve Memorial Library is a depository library for the State Department of Education textbook display. New textbooks being considered for use in Louisiana public elementary and secondary schools are placed in cooperating public libraries for public inspection and review during the fall of certain years. Our textbook display is located in this department.
