Children and their caregivers are invited to celebrate Black History Month during our African American Read-In. The National African American Read-In (AARI) is a groundbreaking effort to encourage communities to read together, centering African American books and authors. *Children under 10 must have a responsible person present in programs* -
Mardi Gras: A Fleur De Lis Mosaic
In celebration of Mardi Gras, adults will create a mosaic art piece of a Fleur De Lis using Mardi Gras beads. Space is limited. Registration is required. Please come by the branch or call 674-8172 to register.

Elementary Fun: I Heart Science

Magical Math!
Children are invited to experience math as never before! Using stories, songs and games children will enjoy math in a fun unique way! Ages 6-10. -
STEM Saturday in the Technology Center
Club Kemet partners with Hamilton-South Caddo to host STEM programs for school age children. The first Saturday of the month is dedicated to coding. Come learn the basics of coding as we explore the aspects to design a game. Please register at www.clubkemet.org. -
MOVIE TIME!!!
This day is for movie lovers! Come see a movie on the BIG SCREEN! Feel free to bring your own snacks. On the last Saturday of each month we will do a craft too. -
Family Movie Day
Families are invited to join us for a special showing of The Princess and the Frog (G) as part of our Black History Month celebrations. Set in 1920s Louisiana and featuring Tiana, the first black Disney princess, this film is fun for the whole family! Refreshments will be provided.

Elementary Experiments: Girls in STEM
Kids in grades 1 - 5 are invited to join us in exploring the contributions of women in science! We will unravel the DNA of a strawberry, and decode a binary message. -
International Day of Women and Girls in Science: Robots!
Kids 6+ are invited to build and test a robotic throwing arm in celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science. -
Creative Minds: Engineer Extravaganza
Children will get the opportunity to learn about the woman who helped with construction of the Brooklyn Bridge. Children will use their critical thinking skills to construct their own bridges. Ages 6-11

Join us for International Women and Girls in Science by creating Apollo 13 capsule models while learning about Katherine Johnson. The woman who helped bring Apollo 13 back to earth!
