Drop in: Celebrate Spanish Heritage, "Let's make Maracas!"
Celebrate Spanish Heritage month From 1:00PM – 4:00PM Tuesday through Friday. Children will have an opportunity to come and make their own maracas. We will also be reading Maybe Something Beautiful by F. Isabel Camoy and Abuelita and Me by Leonarda Carranza. -

Freedom Tree Photo Collection
North Shreveport Branch will be collecting photos of military personnel the month of October to be displayed on the November Freedom Tree. These photos can be of present or former military personnel. Photos can be brought by the branch or sent by email to rterry@shreve-lib.org -

Banned Book Week Film, The Lorax
Join us for a family screening to celebrate Banned Books Week. Speak for the trees and come by and watch The Lorax. This book was banned in 1989 from a California Public school for "brainwashing children". This movie is rated PG. -

Shades of Hue Book Club-The Little Italian Hotel by Phaedra Patrick
This book club is for adult patrons. The group will meet on the last Saturday of each month and discuss selected books by authors of varying shades and hues. This month's selection is The Little Italian Hotel by Phaedra Patrick. Readers meet Ginny Splinter, who on a whim, invites four strangers, all fighting some level of heartbreak, on a picturesque trip to Bologna, Italy.
