Learn to make a kite with the American Kitefliers Association

Kite Making Workshops

The American Kitefliers Association will visit branches of Shreve Memorial Library this fall for fun Kite Making Workshops! Join us for these fun, interactive workshops where you will make your own kite and learn how kite flying relates to science, physics, math, history, and culture.

The American Kitefliers Association will be in town for the American Kitefliers Annual Convention, happening October 15 through October 20at  Louisiana State University in Shreveport and the Shreveport Convention Center. Admission is free to these events, and the public is encouraged to watch. Find out more here

We are happy to welcome the association to our libraries for these fun hands-on kite-making workshops. These events will be appropriate for children and families. Come and make your own kite all while learning about the history of kite flying.

Programs will take place during the following days and times.
