Shreveport Opera Xpress presents "Leo the Lyin Lion"

Children are invited to come and enjoy the music of the Shreveport Opera as they perform “Leo the Lyin’ Lion” at four of our branches this January. During these musical programs, children will learn what happens when you don’t tell the truth.

The performances are free and will take place at the following days and times:

  • Friday, January 11 at 10 a.m. – David Raines Branch (Facebook Event)
  • Wednesday, January 16 at 10 a.m. – Hollywood/Union Ave. Branch (Facebook Event)
  • Tuesday, January 22 at 10 a.m. – Hamilton/South Caddo Branch (Facebook Event)
  • Thursday, January 24 at 4:30 p.m. – West Shreveport Branch (Facebook Event)

“Leo the Lyin’ Lion” is an adaptation of “The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf.” The goal of the Shreveport Opera Xpress is to present opera to the community in a fun and educational way. This show will expose students to opera while also teaching valuable lessons. Children will learn the importance of honesty, trustworthiness, and good character. A discussion period will follow the performance asking the audience what they saw and heard during the show.
