We are partnering with area colleges to host “College Nights” for high school students this winter at our Wallette Branch and Hamilton/South Caddo Branch. Come and learn about applying for school, earning local scholarships, and filling out your FASFA.
Students and parents will find out more information about local scholarships and get help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). “College Nights” will be held at the Wallette Branch, 363 Hearne Avenue, and at the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch, 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, monthly from January through March 2019.
Students will be able to meet with representatives from area colleges including BPCC, LSU-S, SUSLA, and NSULA. Each school will offer information regarding enrollment and admission policies, application deadlines, and programs offered. School officials will also have information about potential scholarships available.
Library staff will be on hand to help those present complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA allows students to apply for a variety of financial options including loans, grants and work-study programs, and is required for all federal and state financial aid awards. FAFSA assistance will be provided in the library tech centers.
“College Nights” are free and open to the public, and will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the dates below. Registration is not required to attend.
