Come and celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day

We are honoring everyone’s favorite honey-loving bear during Winnie the Pooh Day at our libraries on Friday, January 18! Join us for Winnie the Pooh Day programs to celebrate the birthday of A.A. Milne, the British author and creator of Winnie the Pooh.

Winnie the Pooh Day celebrations will include storytimes, crafts, movies, and visits from Winnie the Pooh and his friends, along with photo opportunities. Children and families are encouraged to participate.

Join us for the Winnie the Pooh Day programs on Friday, January 18 at the following locations and times:

  • Atkins Branch, 3704 Greenwood Road, at 10 a.m.
  • Blanchard Branch, 344 Alexander, Blanchard at 1 p.m.
  • Broadmoor Branch, 1212 Captain Shreve Drive, at 11 a.m.
  • Cedar Grove/Line Avenue Branch, 8303 Line Avenue, at 10 a.m.
  • David Raines Branch, 2855 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at 10 a.m.
  • Higginbotham-Bryson Branch, 9359 Greenwood Road, Greenwood at 10 a.m.
  • Hollywood /Union Avenue Branch, 2105 Hollywood Avenue at 10 a.m.
  • Hosston Branch, 15478 Highway 71, Hosston at 10 a.m.
  • Mooretown Branch, 4360 Hollywood Avenue, at 4 p.m.

Author A.A. Milne brought the adorable bear to life in his stories which also featured his son, Christopher Robin. Milne based Winnie on a black bear that lived at the London Zoo.
