We will once again offer amnesty to customers with overdue fines this holiday season. “Food for Thought” Amnesty Days will begin Monday, November 11 and continue through Friday, December 20. Library customers may bring a non-perishable food item for each overdue fine, and fines will be forgiven. All food items will be donated to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
By offering fine forgiveness, we provide an opportunity to offer good will toward patrons and help the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana in their mission to help others. Food Bank officials say the needs in the community are the greatest during this time. Their shelves are nearly bare, and they are in dire need of donations.
Shreve Memorial Library is committed to supporting organizations that help people.
“We are always here to help, and this is just our way of doing it,” said Shreve Memorial Library Director John Tuggle. “It is part of our mission to transform lives.”
Please note “Food for Thought” Amnesty Days does not apply to charges for damaged or lost items.
