Beginning in January 2020, all full-time Shreve Memorial Library branches will share the same operating hours, which will now include Sunday hours as well. The change will affect 12 of the 21 Shreve Memorial Library branches located in Shreveport and Vivian.
The decision to expand operating hours was made after a request from the Shreve Memorial Library Board of Control to add more Sunday hours to full-time branches.
“After considering the Board’s request and with a few minor changes, we were able to not only add Sunday hours to all of our full-time branches, but also expand the total number of hours the library is open to the public during the week without any additional costs,” stated Shreve Memorial Library Executive Director John Tuggle.
The new operating hours are Monday through Wednesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The new hours will go into effect Thursday, January 2, 2020, and will remain the same year-round. Branches affected by the new operating hours include:
“The expanded hours will provide more opportunities for everyone to use the library, especially students working on last minute projects,” added Tuggle.
