Local authors are sharing their latest works at Shreve Memorial Library branches this January. Authors will hold public book readings and book discussions at the Hamilton/South Caddo, Broadmoor and Main branches. All events are free and open to the public.
On Saturday, January 11, the authors of Forever and Always: A B&B Anthology will hold a public reading and book signing at the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch, located at 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. The nine romance authors, all local members of Romance Writers of America, united to compile an anthology of stories spanning a century all connected by a common location – the Victorian house at 2439 Fairfield Avenue in Shreveport. The authors include Sarah Hamer, Gloria Polanosky, Michelle Allums, Lynn Boyett, Michelle Lyn Johnson, Marie Juneau, Jackie Rod, Donna Jo Stone, and Mary Gill. The meet the author event will take place at the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Local doctor and author, Dr. Jesse Lee Hite, will share his recently published book, Bipolar Has 1000 Faces, in a discussion entitled, “Depressions That Don’t Respond to Antidepressants.” A board-certified psychiatrist with over 40 years of experience, Dr. Hite explores the various forms of depression and treatment options available. Dr. Hite will present his work on the Broadmoor Branch, 1212 Captain Shreve Drive, on Monday, January 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and at the Main Branch, 424 Texas Street, on Tuesday, February 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
