Shreve Memorial Library welcomes historian and author, Mike Bunn, to its next Virtual Author Chat on Thursday, November 5. The interactive, virtual discussion will be held via Zoom at 6:00 p.m. and is the third chat in the library’s Virtual Author Chat series.
Mike Bunn is an author and historian who has worked with several cultural heritage organizations in the Southeast and currently serves as director of Historic Blakely State Park in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Bunn’s latest work, Fourteenth Colony: The Forgotten Story of the Gulf South During America’s Revolutionary Era, recounts the little-known history of the British colony of West Florida, which once stretched from the mighty Mississippi to the shallow bends of the Apalachicola and portions of what are now the states of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Fourteenth Colony is the first comprehensive history of the colony and introduces readers to the Gulf Coast’s remarkable British period.
On Thursday, November 5, Bunn will join Shreve Memorial Library to discuss Fourteenth Colony as well as his many years of historical research covering the Gulf South. Ivy Woodard, Shreve Memorial Library Public Relations Coordinator, will serve as moderator for the virtual author chat.
The virtual event is free and open to the public. However, registration is required. Those interested can sign up for the Author Chat event at https://bit.ly/SMLChat3.
