Shreve Memorial Library to Participate in Annual Beanstack Winter Reading Challenge

Winter Reading Challenge

Start your new year by diving into a good book! Once again, Shreve Memorial Library is inviting readers of all ages to join thousands of others across the country in the 2021 Annual Beanstack Winter Reading Challenge. From January 1 through January 31, participants are encouraged to read at least three books to help meet a community goal of 1,000 books read. Those who complete the challenge will be entered into a prize drawing for winter-themed book bundles. To participate, register at https://shreve-lib.beanstack.org/reader365 .

This year’s Beanstack Winter Reading Challenge is in partnership with Simon & Schuster’s Books Like Us. Books Like Us is a celebration of diversity, harnessing the transformative power of seeing oneself reflected in a book. Participants may read any books they choose during the challenge, but Simon & Schuster will provide recommendations from featured authors from the publisher’s bestselling and acclaimed authors including; Cozbi Cabrera, Sharon Draper, Stuart Gibbs, Stephen Graham Jones, Hena Khan, Debbie Ohi, Christina Hammonds Reed and Rebecca Roanhorse.

In addition, Simon & Schuster will award book collections and virtual author visits to the winning libraries and schools with the highest level of participation. Winners will be announced in February.
