Shreve Memorial Library will once again welcome patrons at the Blanchard Branch. The branch, located at 344 Alexander Avenue in Blanchard, has been closed since October 2020 for renovations. The Blanchard Branch will reopen to the public tomorrow, January 26 at 11:30 a.m.
Renovations at the branch began October 8, 2020 and were completed last week. Renovations included the expansion of existing library space, new shelving, carpeting, and the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting both inside and outside of the branch.
“The Capital Improvement Project allowed us to add 560 additional square feet to the existing Blanchard Branch,” said Mary Canfield, Shreve Memorial Library Area Manager. “The additional square footage allows more space for materials and future programming. We are excited to welcome the public back to our larger facility.”
Beginning Tuesday, January 26, the Blanchard Branch’s hours of operations are:
The branch offers quick browsing and checkouts, computer access, reference help, Readers’ Advisory, printing and faxing services, and curbside pickup. Browsing and computer use is limited to one hour only. All visitors to the library over the age of two must wear a face mask to enter the library, and face masks are required at all time while in the branch. No eating or drinking is allowed in the branch, and the amount of people allowed inside will depend on occupancy limits and social distancing guidelines. All patrons under the age of 10 will not be permitted without a responsible person.
