Shreve Memorial Library is continuing its virtual book club meetings throughout the summer. Meeting topics include exclusive author events during the Baker & Taylor Sourcebooks Mystery at the Library Book Club, a celebration of PRIDE Month with the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch LGBT+ Book Club, and a Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program discussion of Until Tuesday with the Red River Readers Book Club. All book club meetings will take place via Zoom, and registration is required to attend.
On Wednesday, May 26, Shreve Memorial Library cardholders are invited to attend an exclusive author event featuring Sulari Gentill, author of Shanghai Secrets. Gentill will be the featured author at the May Mystery at the Library digital book club, sponsored by Baker & Taylor and Sourcebooks. The Mystery at the Library Book Club provides Shreve Memorial Library patrons with unlimited access to the featured e-book as well as live virtual book discussions with the authors. The May meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 8, the Shreve Memorial Library Virtual Book Club will join members of the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch LGBT+ Book Club for “Celebrating PRIDE.” Pride Month is celebrated each June to promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility of the LGBT+ community. The book club will discuss the group’s favorite LGBT+ authors and books. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
As part of the Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program, the Red River Readers Book Club will host the July Shreve Memorial Library Virtual Book Club meeting and discuss Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him by Bret Witter and Luis Carlos Montalvan. The Red River Readers Book Club is based out of the Cedar Grove-Line Avenue Branch. The club will meet on Tuesday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
