Shreve Memorial Library offers Computer Classes Again

SML Offers Computer Classes Again

Indoor programs are back at Shreve Memorial Library and so are computer classes! The library is now offering computer classes for adults at several library branches. Participants must register to participate in each program, follow the CDC and state mask mandate, and practice social distancing.

A Basic Internet class will take place today at 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton/ South Caddo Branch. During the class, participants will learn the basics of the Internet and how to safely navigate it. The class will take place in the branch’s Technology Center at 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

Learn basic computer skills at Shreve Memorial Library Broadmoor, North Shreveport, and West Shreveport Branches. Attendees will learn about computers, including how to use a mouse, the keyboard, what software is, and get an introduction to Windows. The class will start at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16 at the Broadmoor Branch, 1212 Captain Shreve Drive, and on Saturday, September 18, at North Shreveport Branch, 4844 North Market. Then on Tuesday, September 21, class will begin at 10:30 a.m. at West Shreveport Branch, 4380 Pines Road.

On Wednesday, September 22, Mooretown Branch, 4360 Hollywood Avenue is offering an Internet class from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants will learn how to access the Internet and search effectively.

Adults are encouraged to take advantage of more computer program classes on Saturday, September 25. Microsoft Word l and Excel classes will be offered at two separate branches. Hamilton/South Caddo Branch will host Microsoft Word l class in the Technology Center at the branch, while Excel class will be taught at the Broadmoor Branch. Both classes will start at 4:00 p.m.

Get to know Shreve Memorial Library’s eBranch services. The Atkins Branch, will host a session on Libby, Hoopla, and Flipster on Tuesday, September 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A discussion and demonstration will take place in the branch’s Technology Center at 3704 Greenwood Road. Participants may bring their electronic devices to learn how to access services from home.

Registration is required for all computer classes. Please stop by or call the individual library branches to register.
