  1. Stomp Out Bullying Poster Contest

    September 10, 2018, 3:00 PM - October 11, 2018, 7:00 PM

    Teens in grades 6th - 12th are invited to enter a Stomp Out Bullying Poster Contest. Posters will be provided September 10-14. Students may pick up a poster and an entry form at Hamilton/South Caddo Library Youth Services desk. All posters must be turned in on October 11, 2018 by 7pm . Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners. Winners will be announced on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at our Stomp Out Bullying Seminar.

    Join us for our Teen Lock-In Laser Tag Event! This event is for teens ages 11-17! Parents must sign permission slip for teens to participate. All teens must be dropped off and picked up.     Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology. It’s leading the movement to inspire, educate and equip girls with computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. The West Shreveport Branch is excited to offer a Girls Who Code Club at the library during this school year.

    Girls Who Code Club is a free program to teach girls in 6th-12th grades computer programming and coding, stimulate interest in the STEM field and careers, and build useful skills and confidence. Our club meets weekly for 1.5 hours during the Fall from September – December.

    Girls in grades 6 through 12 are welcome in the club by enrollment only. Spaces are limited and acceptance will be based on a lottery if there are more applicants than spaces. Call, email, or stop by to register for the Fall semester today!
