Children's Book Week: StoryTime the Month of May 2022 + Craft

Join us at the Belcher Library during the month of May (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 3:30pm) to hear a story book by one of the Children's Book Festival's featured authors, Jennifer L. Holm. You will hear either 'The Evil Princess vs. The Brave Knight' or The Evil Princess vs. The Brave Knight Take Turns'. You will also make a crown to wear home.

Teen Tuesday: Live Action Angry Birds

This week teens will play live action angry birds by creating towers with cardboard boxes and trying to knock them down with stuffed animals.

African American Genealogy Workshop, Part 1

Part 1 is an Introduction to African American Genealogy. African American genealogy mirrors that of other American ethnicities in many ways, but there are many challenges that others do not experience. We will also learn how to research free African Americans. The fascinating story of John Jones, the free preacher of Antebellum Shreveport, breaks every mold. Fiction Book Club

Adult Computer Classes for Beginners: Learn Computer Basic

If you would like to learn the basics on how to use a computer, but don’t know where to start, then the David Raines Library has the class for you! Computer Basics is a hands-on 6-week class giving a very basic introduction to the parts of the computer and how to use them, focusing on its primary navigational tool, the mouse. This class is designed for people with little to no computer experience, so don’t hesitate to sign up if you fall into one of these categories. Call or visit the branch to register. Space is limited
