Leap Prep @ the Library

Key To Success Private Tutor LLC wants to prepare your student for the upcoming LEAP 2025 test. The FREE program is designed to help our youth on state testing. Registration is required. Space is limited.

Baby Bounce: A Lapsit Story Time

This story time is designed especially for babies (newborn to 18 months) and their caregivers featuring songs, rhymes, bounces, and stories. Older siblings are welcome to join and are encouraged to bring their own “baby” stuffed animal. *Children under 10 must have a responsible person present in programs*

Computer Class: Basic Computer

Elementary Fun: Bug Hotels

Children in grades 1-5 are invited to join us in learning about some of the bugs in the Louisiana ecosystem and making bug hotels to observe them!

Preschool Storytime: 'Eggcited' For Easter

Preschool children ages 3-5 are asked to join us for this very 'Eggciting' Easter Storytime. This story time will feature Easter songs, and rhymes. Afterwards, children will decorate their own Easter egg.

Computer Basics: Practice Keyboarding Skills

Participants will learn about keyboarding and typing skills. Registration required.

Terrific Thursday Storytime!

Children are invited to join us for stories, songs, and crafts! This month we will be exploring Easter, Library Day, a buntasticle adventure and celebrating authors from SML's annual Children's Book Festival! This program is for families with children 2-5.

Reel Time At North Shreveport

Adults will watch the film, Woodlawn. Film tells the true story of the 1973 Woodlawn High School football team in Birmingham and how a spiritual revival that starts within the team — despite the turbulent times around them — spreads throughout the school and into the community.

Name the plant at the Library (in honor of Earth Day)

Come to the Oil City branch and examine our Poinsettia it has grown quite a bit over the years, we are letting our patrons come up with a name for it and on Thursday, April 27th the first name we draw out of the box wins!

We are having an Easter Egg Hunt for the children in the stacks at the Oil City library on Thursday, April 06, 2023 come and enjoy the hunt

"Life Fruits" Children Club

Join us as we launch the "Life Fruits" children club. In this club we will be teaching children how to do life, one fruit at a time. Children will learn how to incorporate these life principles into every day life. We will do crafts, have interactive discussion and even act out various fruits we learn, for retention.
