[ARCHIVED] Genealogy Department to host African-American Family History Workshop

African American Family History Workshop

Shreve Memorial Library’s Genealogy Department will present Your Family's Story: An African-American Family History Workshop on Saturday, February 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Broadmoor Branch, 1212 Captain Shreve Drive. This special event will feature guest speaker Armajean DeClouet and lessons on how to research your family history.

We will cover a number of subjects during this all-day event, including how to start your family research and the sources of information available for family research. Armajean DeClouet will give a talk titled “Putting Meat on the Bones: How to Flesh Out Your Genealogy.” We will give a tour of the Genealogy Department and provide one-on-one assistance if time allows.

This event is free and open to the public. No prior experience is necessary, and registration is not required.

You can RSVP to our Facebook Event. For more information, call the Genealogy Department at 318-219-3468.
