Standard Kit – includes the following items:

  • 1 camera
  • 1 charging cord
  • 1 plug in microphone
  • 1 tripod
  • 1 battery charger
  • 1 set of headphones

Request must be received one week in advance. Contact the Branch Manager to request approval. The Branch Manager will then forward the request to the Marketing Team.

Special equipment is available in addition to the standard kit. Requests for special equipment must be submitted to the Branch Manager who will forward to the Marketing Team for final approval. Requests for special equipment require a minimum notice of 2 weeks.

Please include the format for the program you plan to record; i.e., lecture, panel discussion, interactive. If you are planning to record performers, be certain to complete the Video/Photo Content Release Form (20162027Photo/VideoContent ReleaseForm) to assure you have written authorization to record the program. Copies of all consents must be submitted to the Marketing Team when you return your equipment.

The Marketing Team uses a priority system based on demand for the program being recorded. Higher profile programs have top priority.

A member of the Marketing Team will deliver the reserved equipment to the branch early enough to allow time for you to set up the equipment. Area Managers are trained in the use of the equipment and are available to assist with set-up and questions. The equipment borrowed MUST NOT be returned by TRANSIT. Contact Marketing at the end of the program and ask them to pick up. You also may ask if the area manager would return the equipment and your recording to the Marketing Team at the Support Services Center.

The Marketing Team DOES NOT staff programs that are scheduled to be recorded. Each branch should plan for staff to manage the recording process and return the equipment immediately after. Marketing will edit video and post once editing is complete. As a result, video will not be available online immediately after and it may take as long as two weeks before a program is uploaded to the SML website.

All videography equipment is available thanks to the efforts of the Shreve Memorial Library Foundation and through a grant funded by the Beaird Family Foundation. Please remember to handle the equipment properly and do not allow anyone other than staff to handle the equipment. Be sure to store it safely in the cases once you are finished with the program.
